Tale of the Seven Kingdoms

For as long as man has walked on the land, the mer have swam in the waters. Though they may share a few humanoid traits these ancient beings live in a far different world then the land dwellers above. For countless centuries the mer have been the guardians of all life in the sea. Some believe their ancestors were humans who returned to the sea, to evolve and adapt in ways that resemble the creatures they now live among. Others believe they began as these sea creatures and evolved more human like traits and intellect to help protect their schools and pods from the threat of the land dwellers up above.

Regardless of how they came to be the mer are an elusive and savage race that have formed thousands of clans across the vast ocean. Long ago these clans would go to battle over territory, hunting grounds, or simply to settle old rivalries. To end this constant fighting the strongest and most dominant clans formed seven kingdoms to negotiate who would take what migration routs and what seasons the different clans would occupy the various hunting grounds. Though the seven leading clans have managed to maintain an uneasy peace among the mer, old rivalries run as deep as the ocean and the tides are always changing...

The sleepy town of Veru valley new york is a peaceful and tranquil place to live. Sailboats line the waters each night to watch the sun setting. People from all over the country come to visit here, it's the perfect place to live and raise a family...right?

WRONG

Behind this pristine setting lies a dark secret. It's a curse that has plagued this town for decades. a witch, cruelly and wrongly accused of murder back in 1692, was hanged and with her last breath, placed a curse on Veru Valley that her wrong doing would be avenged. Now, in this day people are... disappearing...

But what's not known is that this town is home to supernaturals and humans alike. They lived side by side in harmony for generations...but now, with people disappearing, mistrust and accusations are flying around and if the truth behind the disappearances isn't found, war could break out.But what's more, a secret society called 'the hunters' have risen and want to wipe out the entire town of supernaturals.

is the curse really the case?. or is it something simple and logical? if the truth isn't found out, a war will be inevitable between the humans and supernaturals. will the truth ever be found out before its too late?
