Physical Description:
Näteus is a gray reef shark, and, as such, is mostly dark gray, but lighter gray on the front of his torso and face. His hair is slightly indigo, a trait that is uncommon for his species, leading many members of his clan to believe that he has mixed ancestry. He keeps his hair short near his face because it's so thick, but it reaches his shoulderblades in the back. His eyes are gray as well, and he has three freckles under his right eye. Like most reef sharks, he has a lean but muscular build, but he is a bit short for his species.

Personality:
Like most sharks, Näteus is hot-tempered, but unlike many, he is quite good at keeping his temper in check. This, coupled with his almost obsessive level of organization, makes him a natural leader. Näteus is quite practiced at keeping up a cold, icy exterior, which not many people can get past. He is fiercely overprotective of his younger sister, Rosalyn.

Näteus follows the principle that a good defense works as a good offense. He waits for what he wants to come to him, rather than going after it, in most cases. This tends to get him in trouble. He isn't very aggressive unless someone makes him angry.

History:

When Näteus was born into the Reef Shark Clan, it was run by a very powerful and effective leader, and all was well. The clan was one of the largest of all the shark clans, and they were very well-respected and somewhat feared, even if they weren't the most powerful of sharks. The leader at the time had a son who was in line to become the next leader, and Näteus was probably to become a warrior or a hunter.

Näteus's live changed dramatically when he was 18 years old. The former leader died, leaving his overly aggressive son in his place. The new leader wanted their clan to become the most powerful in the seas, and went on brutal war campaigns that killed off a number of their warriors. In one particular battle, the leader himself, as well as most of his close family members who would have taken his place, should anything happen to him, were killed. Näteus was one of the few who survived this battle.

The clan was thrown into chaos after this incident, which left the leader's two-year-old son as the only heir to the clan leader's position. Because it was impossible for him to lead, Näteus was chosen as the new leader instead. He put the clan in a defensive position rather than an offensive one, and is working on building it back up. Näteus being chosen as the leader was a controversial decision throughout the clan for a number of reasons, including the fact that he was barely twenty years old at the time, without a mate, and most likely not a full Reef Shark.

Näteus's only family is his younger sister, Rosalyn.
